FDMC AutoTest Demo at Brooklands Autumn Motorsport Day 23

Club Members are invited to join our AutoTest demo at the Autumn Motorsports Day at Brooklands Museum on Sunday 8th October.

Steve Castle writes:

“We need to put together a small team in place to run the event (set-up and sign-on etc), and other people to do demonstration runs as well as passenger rides for the interested visitors.  Last year went really well, with a large number of people taking passenger rides, so it would be good to repeat this.

Claire from Motorsport UK will be coming along with banners & handouts to help plug our sport and promote #Streetcar.

I would suggest arrival from around 07.30, so that we can get everything set-up ready for an 09.00 kick off when they open the gates to the public. We will need to lay out the course, put up banners and flags around the area and have a quick briefing.

The Museum will have extra food and drink outlets in place, with all of the different motoring and aircraft attractions around the site open during the day. We will have an hour off for a lunch break when the other demonstration cars go over to Mercedes-Benz World for a play, and in the afternoon, there will be a chance to take part in Test Hill ascents, as long as it hasn’t started raining!”.

Please email Steve (click here), if you would like to join in?

Thanks in advance for supporting your Club.

FDMC & The Brooklands Festival of Motorsport

The Brooklands Festival of Motorsport – 18th & 19th of June

FDMC have been working behind the scenes with Brooklands on two Double-Twelve Competition events, as part of the “Festival of Motorsport” weekend at the famous museum:

“Come and enjoy this two-day extravaganza, featuring the three Double Twelve Competition events, Test Hill ascents, great food, music and entertainment for the whole family. The event celebrates Brooklands’ rich motoring and motorsport history, and is always held on the weekend closest to the anniversary of the original opening of the race track on the 17th June 1907.

Soak up the atmosphere of the site and see both current and vintage cars competing on the Speed Trials at Mercedes-Benz World on Saturday and then on the Driving Tests on Sunday, on the Banking and the Finishing Straight. If you prefer to be able to walk around and study your classic cars, then the “Pride of Brooklands” Concours may be the thing for you, including casting your vote for the “Visitors Choice” award on the day.

Both days will feature festival fun on the Museum site, with live music, car and motor club displays and family entertainment”.

For more information including event regulations and online entries, visit the Brooklands website (click here).
