FDMC @ Brooklands Double Twelve – 16th & 17th June 2018

FDMC @ the Double Twelve Motorsport Festival, Brooklands Museum, 16-17 June 2018.

As well as the Museum to look over with all its newly opened exhibits, there is a sprint to watch on the Saturday with members of the VSCC taking part in their vintage cars, and then the Driving Tests with both older and more modern cars on the Sunday. There will also be a chance for people to take part in ascents of the iconic Test Hill on the Sunday afternoon.

We have a good space for Club stand, but we need a few more people to come along on both, or either day, to help promote the Club in particular and motorsport in general. We have a couple of people who have volunteered their services so far, but need a few more to come along and help. All we need is for people to bring along their competition cars, and a good helping of enthusiasm so we can try and sign up a few new members.

More info on the weekend’s event here.

Please contact Steve Castle stevecastle@brooklandsmuseum.com directly if you can help.

Abingdon CAR-nival – 9th & 10th June 2018

3 Disciplines, 2 Days & 1 Venue

Like a lot of events, Abingdon Motorsport CAR-nival was started by a stupid idea over a cup of coffee at a Bentley Owners Club Sprint way back in 1997 – Since then, it has now grown into one of the largest and most popular clubman motor sport events in the country.

There’s a unique 2-course sprint for 150 cars, a championship autosolo, an 88 mile stage rally and so much more….

2017 Winners

Graeme Bell – Rally
David Sims – Sprint FTD

ACSMC Speed Championship 2018

Edited by Geoff Wade, FDMC Media.

From Dave Whyman regarding the 2018 ACSMC Sprint and Hillclimb Championships.  Please find attached:

 – Regulations for 2018 (download: 2018 Approved ACSMC Speed Championships Regs)

– Class structure for 2018  (download 2018 Approved Speed Championships Class Structure). These are embedded in the regs but you may want to print separately. In our quest to reduce the number of classes yet still have some level of competitive equality, we succeeded in confusing competitors and organisers alike in 2017. This year we have reverted back to more conventional structures.

– Registration form (download 2018 Speed Registration Form). If you have already printed the regs and do not want another copy, please mark on the form.

We had over 60 registered sprinters in 2017 – I hope with your help to improve on that in 2018. Unfortunately we had only 20 registered hillclimbers. Understandable in some context given the lack of local venues. However I think we offer a more sympathetic class structure than some other associations. We need more than 20 in 2018 – if not we have to consider the viability of a separate championship for 2019.

Can I ask therefore that for both the Sprint and Hillclimb Championships, that you promote it to your fellow competitors. The larger the championships, the more competitive and exciting it is.

Registration is again £5 – the smallest paper currency there is – so excellent value (or cheap if that works better)

Any questions, do contact me.

All the best for 2018.

Regards

Dave Whyman

Event: Sprint Royale 2017

FDMC Sprint Royale – Eelmore – 8th Oct 2017

Welcome to the online entry page for FDMC’s Sprint Royale 2017, on Sunday Oct 8th at Eelmoor, near Aldershot. Before entering (by any method), do read the regs for the event, here, Regs.pdf.

Methods of entry and payment

An entry can be made in the traditional way, ie print out the regs, complete the entry form by hand, and post it with a cheque to the Secretary of the Meeting. Or, here’s how you can submit an online entry, and pay by PayPal or credit card. BOTH the entry and payment must be received, for your entry to be accepted. Your entry will be provisional until we receive them both. So, doing both at the same time is much the best way.

Online Entry form

Fill in all relevant fields in the online entry form, OnlineEntryform , and then click ‘Submit’.

Online payment by PayPal, or credit card.

Click the ‘Pay Now’ button to use your Paypal account if you have one. Or, you can use a credit card, without having an account, on Paypal’s guest basis (by selecting the ‘PayPal Guest Checkout’ option, on the first PayPal screen).

Driver Name

If you’re not already a PayPal user, but would like to become one, then go to PayPal, and follow the (very easy) instructions for opening an account.

If you have any queries about using either of these methods, then do please email me, at allanbrown@fdmc.org.uk

The entries list is here, Sprint Royale Entries . And for directions, see the Event Locations Page.

Thanks, and happy Sprinting!   The Sprint Royale organising team.
