FDMC Event: Shere Hillclimb

FDMC will be out show casing entry-level motorsport at the Shere Hillclimb on Sunday 6th September. 

This is more of a low-key event, than the BMS, where the Club offers a small grass AutoTest demonstration and passenger rides.

We need a team of 12-15 members, some with cars, to demonstrate, give passenger rides, and talk to the public and encourage potential motorsport enthusiasts to come along and get involved in Club motorsport.  Our aim is to show how anyone can get involved with any road gong car and help them find a local club and get involved, and start to live the dream.

Please volunteer at www.FDMC.org.uk/marshal and in the comments say if you can drive and who you are coming with.

Arrive by 10am and we will be packing up about 4pm. 

It is no cost for us to enter, so don’t buy official tickets, and you will get ample chance to see the rest of the show and the many interesting and iconic cars gong up the hill.

Due to current weather conditions, if you can bring a water fire extinguisher, a bucket half full of sand, or even just an empty bucket with you, that would be great.

Bring snacks and water to drink, the show vendors are tourist prices.

Of course families are welcome and actively encouraged.

Club level motorsport is for families and to help get the younger generation involved.

Promo: FDMC AutoTest Demo at Shere Hillclimb 25

FDMC is running a Grass AutoTest demo at Shere Hillclimb on Sunday 7th September. We need a team of dozen or so drivers and helpers to show off their skills, give passenger rides and engage with the public. Simply sign up on our marshal registration form (click here)  and state “driver” or “helper” in the Other Comments section.

The show starts at 10am and we will be pack up around 4pm, you are welcome to do a half-day (10am-1pm or 1pm-4pm). You will get ample chance to see the rest of the show and the many interesting and iconic cars on display and driving up the hill.

Promo: FDMC Solo at The British Motor Show 25

 

It’s British Motor Show time again at Farnborough Airport. Friday 15th August to Sunday 17th August, and FDMC is headlining the Motorsport Arena. Volunteers are needed across all three days for an AutoSolo demonstration. We have a one hour slot during the morning to generate interest and another in the afternoon to give passenger rides. We need 10 people to volunteer for each day, 6 to 8 to drive their daily drive cars around a short course and 2 or 3 others to help out. We can rotate roles so that everyone can join in. No experience required, so anybody or everybody can take part (you can also bring a friend). Drivers should get 30+ runs per day so you can also refine your skills ready for your next competition. During the rest of the day, your time is yours to view the show or chat with potential motorsport enthusiasts, there’s free entry to the show for our volunteers.
